ORAL MEDICINE

Oral medicine in its broadest sense may be defined as that area of dentistry that concentrates on diagnosis and treatment of oral mucosal disease.

Oral medicine includes treatment of oral ulcerations, smoking related lesions, infective conditions and early pre-malignant conditions. Diagnosis is by biopsy or blood tests. Treatment is normally non-surgical.
